Vi makes a move to save her father in this sequel to Vortex Visions.

I loved the Air Awakens series. It started out slow for me, but once the plot picked up, I was 100% into it. This series…not so much. I find myself bored by the plot and frustrated by the characters. Vi and Taavin do not have the same charm as Vhalla and Aldrick. Vi and Taavin bore me. Vi, in particular, strikes me as a generic protagonist. Not much seperates her from the other “save the world” ladies in young adult literature. Taavin might be more interesting, but we still do no know much about him (even by the end of this novel). While the stakes are supposedly higher in this series, I find myself disconnected from it. Perhaps the problem lies with the bland side characters and slow pacing.

At the end of the day, I can see why other readers enjoy this extension into the Air Awakens world. Unfortunately, I’m just not one of them. I’m out.

tl;dr I feel disconnected from the characters and plot, which leave me not wanting to continue the series.
