Ripped by Katy Evans

Ripped (The REAL, #5)

by Katy Evans

Pandora, Brooke and Melanie's gothic friend, had her heart broken by a bad boy rocker. He is "ripped." And he's back in town with the biggest concert of the year. Pandora hates him so much that she asks Melanie to come with her to throw eggs and soiled diapers at him. When they are caught by security, Melanie spills the beans that Pandora knows the band and to ask the lead singer (Melanie is merely attempting to get security to release them.) So, our sexy bad boy rocker is summoned after the concert, and he's sticky and smelly and pissed as hell. Especially when he realizes Pandora-a shit load of fucking trouble-is to blame. He decides not to press charges if she will follow certain conditions he will set, none of which Pandora likes, and all of them which imply them being in close contact once again. When Pandora ends up conceding to his wishes, the passion they once shared flares up unexpectedly, and no matter how much she pretends to hate him, she loathes that he knows how much she wants and still loves him even more.

A great 5th book in the series, though reading the previous four isn't totally necessary aside from a bit of background information. This book tells Pandora's story and the rockstar that broke her heart - Mackenna (weird name for a guy and I couldn't really get used to it through the entire book).

I wasn't too excited to read this book just from the cover and finding out it was about a guy who wears wigs and is a rockstar which isn't really my cup of tea. I was never a big fan of Pandora in the other books either but I did want to find out more about her story. Boy am I glad I did. Her story was really interesting actually and I enjoyed finding out about what happened to make her hate men.

I loved the inner battle she faced with loving and hating Kenna throughout the story. I loved how her story developed throughout the book with her mom basically forcing Pandora to keep her emotions in just from past experiences she had. I was truly shocked by some of the events in this book and I wasn't expecting them at all.

The only complaint I had was one scene where she had some pills to relax her while she was flying and she woke up to him kissing her and she told him to stop and he just kept going. That made me pretty uncomfortable but it was a short scene so it wasn't too bad.

Overall I loved this book, it made me laugh and cry and it was another book I couldn't put down. If you like other Katy Evans books you'll definitely like this one as well.
