This was an odd read. To be honest I don't know why I ever bother with science fiction - I can't say I particularly like it. In any case The Darkest Minds was an okay read. I liked parts of it. Hated other parts. I didn't hate it - so I'll likely pick up the next book. But I didn't love it so I'm not going to rush out and hunt down a sequel to devour.

The plot was okay. Typical world goes to shit and this is the reality we now live in plot. I'm not really sure where the plot is going to go though - it doesn't really seem like anyone cares or wants to fix the world or anything. It just kinda is.

The characters were a mess. Ruby is irritating. She's just so passive. Liam is just too nice. Chubs is about the only one who seems to have his head screwed on right but he allows Liam and Ruby to lead - which is ridiculous because Ruby isn't remotely leader material. Zu is more concerned about girly crap than oh I dunno surviving. None of them made sense. The romance between Ruby and Liam is just weird. Actually the more I think about it the more I don't really think I liked this book. Hmm.

Well the book is all over the place. And now my review is too. Oh and it was really long. With not much happening.
