Touch The Dark by Karen Chance

Touch The Dark (Cassandra Palmer, #1)

by Karen Chance

Can you ever really trust a vampire?

Cassandra Palmer can see the future and communicate with spirits - talents that make her attractive to the dead and the undead. The ghosts of the dead aren't usually dangerous; they just like to talk ... a lot.

The undead are another matter.

Like any sensible girl, Cassie tries to avoid vampires. But when the bloodsucking mafioso she escaped three years ago finds Cassie again with vengeance on his mind, she's forced to turn to the vampire Senate for protection.

The undead senators won't help her for nothing, and Cassie finds herself working with one of their most powerful members, a dangerously seductive master vampire - and the price he demands may be more than Cassie is willing to pay .....

This was a delightful story! Cassie is no wishy-washy heroine that's for sure! Very interesting how Karen Chance has mixed it up with vampires and witches and lots of other paranormal activities. Cassie is resourceful and strong, and she knows what she wants, what she doesn't want, and how to deal with the consequences of her choices.
It was amazing to see how much she matured in just one book, and how her character stayed the same through all that was thrown at her. Loyalty comes first for her, and those who deceive her can only do it once, she's not one for second chances.
I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
