The inside baseball on medical resident life is very interesting— it would work better as non-fiction, even, since Martin clearly has the experience— but the story falls apart with the melodrama. It’s my home state, but not my hometown, so even that didn’t provide a hook for my interest. If Martin decided to write a memoir, though, I might very well pick it up.
