Summary:
Maomao spent the earliest parts of her life training in herbal medicine. She had a path in life that she loved. Unfortunately, that was all ripped away from her when she was captured and sold to the inner palace.
Since then, Maomao's life has changed significantly. She no longer works for the inner palace – but instead works directly for Jinshi and the outer palace. That isn't to say she can't continue being a help to the allies she made within those walls.
Review:
Wow. It’s just one emotional hit after another with this series! The Apothecary Diaries Vol. 7 is another homerun, as far as I’m concerned. It follows up the previous arc with everything I could have hoped for and arguably more.
In the last volume, we finally see many puzzle pieces fit together to solve a mystery Maomao has been trying to solve. In this volume, we’re getting to see more of the puzzle of Maomao’s life. I am here for it, and I need to know more. Right now. Please.
The rose arc was interesting and fun. Anybody who knows about coloring flowers probably predicted the final bit, but that isn’t bad. I’m more curious to see what the implication of the blue rose challenge is.
