This is a crazy and hilarious start to a new series. The West Coast Avengers are more or less made up on the spot when they realize, surprise surprise, you sort of need to protect both coasts from supervillains and other like threats. What a shocking revelation, right?
Kate Bishop is the one in charge of The West Coast Avengers, though there have already been some hints that not everybody is happy about that. Most of the people complaining aren’t superheroes, and since nobody else has stepped up to the plate I sort of feel like they should take what they’ve been given and be grateful, but that’s just me.
The rest of the team consists of Clint Barton (sometimes – I don’t think he’ll be a consistent member of the team), America Chavez, Johnny Watts (aka Fuse), Gwenpool, and Quentin Quire (aka Kid Omega).
So far the villains the team have gone up against haven’t been anything you can take seriously, but clearly this series is just having fun for right now. There were so many laugh out loud moments during this issue, I don’t even know where to begin. I can tell you that they began with Kate interviewing for new teammates. It’s all amazing and hilarious, I promise.
