Summary:

You know how the story goes: a young woman in a horrible situation wakes up one day to find herself in a new world—complete with a new face! Usually, this second chance at life is a dream come true.

Not for Penelope. She's the unwanted Daughter of a Duke, and having just finished playing this game (The Duke's Super Love Project), she knows just how lethal her future can get. Somehow, she'll have to find a way to escape this horrible situation. At least she has some insight on what events to avoid.

Review:

What would you do if you were trapped in the last dating sim you played? Depending on the difficulty, you'd probably panic, right? I know I would (and I don't even play dating sims!). Penelope is proving her mettle in Villains Are Destined to Die Vol. 2, as she tackles each challenge thrown her way.

In short, I'm loving this series. It's dark and twisted, but there's also SO MUCH potential here. Especially as new characters (aka romance-able leads) get introduced, seemingly left and right. This volume introduced two big ones that couldn't be more different.

In truth, I'm not one hundred percent certain how to feel about one of them. I guess I'll have to see where it goes? But Penelope is depending on him for her safety, so there's that. Ironically, I think I like the other one best. We've seen him the least, but I dunno...he seems the most human and relatable? (Am I already rooting for him? Maybe).

I can't wait to see where this series goes or how many more complications will be thrown in Penelope's way. On to volume three!
