This is a fast paced, feel good story is about Nick Damone a famous action hero, tired of playing the same movie roles over and over again. He wants to branch out and try something new. So he accepts an offer to play the lead in a New York play, where he’s unexpectedly reunited with Holly, a girl he knew in high school. Holly is now divorced and an up and coming writer. Her newest play parallels her life and Nick is playing her scum bag ex-husband. However, things keep happening to delay the production of the play and people are wondering if the play is jinxed.

Nick is surprised to see Holly again and he would like to spend time with her but, although she is attracted to him, Holly keeps her distance. Holly has been hurt by her ex-husband and isn’t interested in getting involved with a playboy movie star and taking a chance of having her heart broken again. Even though Nick is a famous Hollywood actor, he’s still a nice guy who has stayed grounded. Nick would like to get to know Holly better but his reputation keeps getting in the way. I like the way he never gives up on Holly and is always protective of her. Holly is on the cusp of success and doesn’t want anything or anyone to get in her way. Holly is easy to like. She’s smart, perky and I love her sassiness.

This is a charming story with realistic, down to earth characters. I liked the chemistry between Nick and Holly and hoped they would through their issues and get together. Unfortunately, Holly doesn’t have a lot of confidence and finds it hard to believe a guy like Nick is interested in her. There are also interesting secondary characters that add another dimension to the story.
