Take the Warheads, for instance, this group of students who finish each other’s sentences and can play mind games with others. It is definitely not normal. When Lois Lane hears about the principal’s refusal to help a bullied student, she is determined to get to the bottom of what is happening in Metropolis. With the help of her newfound job as a student journalist and her best friend, SmallvilleGuy, she uncovers the truth.

Who needs Superman when you have Lois Lane? Superman takes a back seat in this fabulous tale about Lois Lane and her ability to save the day!

This is not only a book for super hero lovers, this is a book for everyone. You don’t have to be familiar with Superman’s story to enjoy what Gwenda Bond has done here.

She has taken these old, loved characters and updated them to the media age. Superman, himself, is kept a mystery—both from Lane and the readers. We only know him by his avatar in a virtual-reality game and a screenname, SmallvilleGuy. With Bond keeping him a secret, it builds the mystery and blossoming friendship (and maybe more). It keeps readers on the edge of their seats, questioning when will Superman make his appearance, for real?

But this story is not about Superman. It’s about Lois Lane. And how she can save the day without super powers. It is the ultimate girl power story. Something that Bond made very evident in Fallout was that Lane and SmallvilleGuy were equals which is something you do not get in a lot of the superhero stories, even today. It was a fantastic, clever move. Lois Lane can easily be compared to strong female characters like Katness Everdeen (The Hunger Games) and Tris (Divergent). However, there is something Bond brought to Lane that a lot of the other strong characters lack. Lois Lane was given a voice—sass, spunk, sarcasm. A lot of the strong characters we know from other series are pushed into developing into a strong character; they start as shy—content in their roles—girls until something pushes them out of their bubble. With Lois Lane, she had a voice—she was strong—right from the beginning. Her spunky voice captivated readers deeper into the story.

The story was amazing. There was not one dull moment. Every moment kept me reading further, unable to stop.

Overall, Fallout was a perfect beginning. I can’t wait until the sequel releases! Bond could go in so many different directions with it; I am not sure what to expect. I look forward to reading more about Lois Lane and her other adventures. If you are looking to read a fantastic book with a strong lead and riveting plot, pick up Lois Lane: Fallout. Superman may be able to see through your socks but Lois Lane will be able to blow them right off!
