This is a short, well written story about Luke Blackwell a successful rock star who returns to his small hometown in Texas and Kayleigh, the girl he left behind eight years ago. Kayleigh was heartbroken when Luke left to pursue his music career and isn’t happy to see him again. She doesn’t trust Luke or his motives. He hurt her when he left and she has put a wall around her heart and is afraid to open it up again. Kayleigh’s a small town girl at heart and has never been interested in leaving Texas or living in the crazy rock and roll world.

I liked Luke he’s a straight talking guy with poetry in his soul. He has achieved all his dreams and lives the rock star lifestyle, but doesn’t feel fulfilled. Once Luke sees Kayleigh again, he pursues her, even though she tries to resist him at every turn.

I love reading stories about rock stars. Luke is bigger than life and successful, but misses the girl he left behind. Luke knows he can trust Kayleigh and he also knows she likes him for himself, not because he’s famous. Kayleigh’s an independent and strong woman and loves teaching kindergarten. She has learned to live without Luke, but when he returns he creates havoc in her life and she has a hard time resisting him. Can Luke convince Kayleigh to open her heart and let him in again?
