Treasured by Thursday (Weekday Brides, #7)

by Catherine Bybee

The seventh and final tale in the dazzling, heartwarming, and pulse-racing Weekday Brides series.

Gabriella Masini: She’s a woman haunted by her past, with the scars to prove it. She believes that fairy tales are for other people. An elite matchmaker at Alliance, she’s great at crunching numbers, but something doesn’t add up with her latest prospective client: a billionaire bad boy with his own secrets. When Gabi refuses to be his temporary wife, Hunter forces her hand with an offer she can’t refuse. But marriage to a man like that could never last…or could it?

Hunter Blackwell: Only his bank account is bigger than his ruthless ability to obtain anything he wants. These days, he has a secret reason to settle down, at least for a while—and he thinks the sensual and sassy Gabi will fit the bill perfectly. But when their marriage of convenience becomes downright dangerous, Hunter must decide how far to take his vow to honor and protect Gabi forever.

Alas, we bid our old, and not so old friends, goodbye. I have to admit, I throughly enjoyed this series. Every book had just the right mix of drama, comedy, sensuality, and believe it or not, action. Somewhere in book 2, Bybee decided to put in some dire situation, where our heroines got to be brave and our heroes got be bold, and I liked it.

This book revisits Gabi, who had suffered so greatly in the last book, and apparently, is not fully free of that situation. She is healing, but slowly, when Hunter enters her life. He sets his sights on her and uses underhanded tactics to coerce her into a marriage of convenience. I know we are supposed to hate Hunter, but I sort of always liked him and by the end, I loved him. He experienced a lot of growth, while Gabi was reclaiming herself. I loved their chemistry and banter, as each of them changed each other (for the better).

The ending was very sweet as it felt like we had come full circle. Bybee managed to weave all our previous characters into the story and reinforce that beautiful surrogate family that developed because of Alliance. I will miss the Alliance family.
