I loved the illustrations, once I finally got the hang of them. I've never seen illustrations done primarily in black, but they fit so well with the story. I also thought that the change from the stepmother to the mother was just eerie enough to honor the grisly nature of the original Grimm stories. I'm excited to put this into circulation!
