Fire Force 8 (Fire Force, #8)

by Atsushi Ohkubo

The city of Tokyo is in the grip of a reign of terror! Possessed by demons, people have begun to burst into flame, leading to the establishment of a special firefighting team: the Fire Force, ready to roll on a moment's notice to fight spontaneous combustion anywhere it might break out. But the team is about to get a very unique addition: Shinra, a boy who possesses the unique power to run at the speed of a rocket, leaving behind the famous devil's footprints. Can the Fire Force discover the source of this strange phenomenon and put a stop to it? Or will the city burn to ashes first?

Summary:

Fire has always been a thing of nightmares for many. In this world, people are at risk of spontaneously combusting and turning into Infernals. An Infernal wants only one thing - to destroy. They are no longer considered human. That is where the Fire Force comes into play. It's their duty to protect the people.

After Vulcan's workshop was attacked, Shinra and his allies had no choice but to defend themselves. Unfortunately, there's one more surprise on the horizon, as Shina's brother is directly behind the attack.

Review:

It's the twist we all knew was coming! But seriously, the building tension about Shinra's brother has been perfectly crafted. It made me excited to read Fire Force Vol. 8, to say the least.

Nothing about this volume went the way I expected, and I love it. This series has so many twists and turns, and it's far from over. Once again, we're getting to see more of the world and the characters within. It does make me wonder – will we see Company 8 either work with or fight all of the other Companies? I actually kind of hope so.

Fire Force Vol. 8 ends on a cliffhanger and is in mid-battle. So, if you're binging the series like I am, may I suggest you get your hands on volume 9 at the same time?
