"Make Me Melt" did just that. I completely fell in love with this book, and melted right into my couch :-)
Nicki Day has given us a story that is sweet, sexy, fun, and oh so romantic. The two main characters, Michael and Vicky, share a past that is bittersweet, and after seventeen years, they meet again in their hometown...at Christmastime, no less. They have such a delightful chemstry. It's palpable from the beginning. I could feel the tension between them, and I wanted them to rediscover each other so badly. However, I loved that it was a slow buildup. It made the pay off so much more satisfying.
I want to share so much more, but I don't want to give everything away. "Make Me Melt" is so good. I want you to read it for yourselves. I will tell you that the sex scenes are VERY hot, and you'll get caughr right up in them. Also, the setting is perfect...a small Colorado town, with a big Christmas tree in the park, and snow on the ground. It just screams romance, and it feels real. The background characters fit in so nicely. They're charming and funny, if a bit nosy.
I can't go on enough about this one. I read a LOT of books, but every now and then, I come across a real gem (That's not too cliche is it?) that stays with me. Everything about this story is awesome...even the cover. I am telling you that you MUST read it. You'll fall in love with it as much as I did.
