Can Ellie bake her way to a happy ever after? A deliciously heartwarming novel for fans of Lucy Diamond and Milly Johnson.

When Ellie Hall lands her dream job running the little teashop in the beautiful but crumbling Claverham Castle, it’s the perfect escape from her humdrum job in the city. Life is definitely on the rise as Ellie replaces spreadsheets for scones, and continues her Nanna’s brilliant baking legacy.

When Lord Henry, the stick-in-the-mud owner, threatens to burst her baking bubble with his old-fashioned ways, Ellie wonders if she might have bitten off more than she can chew. But cupcake by cupcake she wins the locals over, including teashop stalwart, Doris, and Ellie’s showstopping bakes look set to go down in castle history!

Now all that’s missing in Ellie’s life is a slice of romance – can Joe, the brooding estate manager, be the one to put the cherry on the top of Ellie’s dream?

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I requested this book from Netgalley mainly because of it's beautiful cover. I know, I know don't judge a book by it's cover but we know we all do it. It just looked so inviting I couldn't say no. Then I was asked by the publisher if I would like to take part in this tour and I jumped at the chance.

Ellie has been working in an insurance call centre for many years and tbh she hates it. She spends every day wishing she could be baking cakes. So when she sees an ad in the local paper for someone to lease the tearooms at Claverham Castle she knew she had to take the chance. Ellie doesn't exactly have the qualifications for the role but she talks her way in.

I really liked Ellie. She was a really loveable character, you just wanted everything to go right for her. Her cakes were mouth watering. If I lived even close to that castle I'd seriously be off my diet. Ellie has sworn off men after her ex broke her heart, so quite obviously she starts to fall for the estate manager Joe.

Joe is tall dark and handsome. He knows he shouldn't get involved with anyone in the castle and after his past he's a bit weary of things going sour. Joe is a really good guy deep down even if he makes some stupid decisions in this book.

I really enjoyed Ellie and Joe's story but it seriously gave me a craving for a good cake, so be prepared for that. I have to say that I was crying by the last chapter it was so sweet.

Thank you again to Harper Impulse for my copy of the book and for letting me take part in the tour I really enjoyed it.
