Beauty and the Beast retold

Liana had never felt like she could measure up. Her mother and sister were gorgeous models. Her father was a renowned plastic surgeon. And Liana? She was just a struggling event planner, hoping to finally make a name for herself.

Bryan's scars from the fire went much deeper than what could be seen. Other than his sister, he had lost all those he loved. Determined to live a reclusive life other than when he was encouraging other burn victims at the hospital, he settled quietly on the Tate estate working as the caretaker.

By All Appearances has great characters! I loved Bryan and his quiet ways. Though he was not exactly content with his scars, he was resigned and resolved to not wallow in his pain. The accident that left him disfigured helped him to refocus on his relationship with the Lord. Liana was insecure and therefore quite relatable. She went through a gradual journey from ignoring the Lord to faith.

I loved the concept of the theme for the gala! I was having so much fun picturing the venue all ready for the event with the twinkling lights and the magical feel. How fun it would be to have a place like that to visit.

You may have guessed that there were elements from Beauty and the Beast in this story. Happily, author Dawn Kinzer chose to loosely tie them in instead of attempting to make this a copy in a new setting.

Readers who enjoy inspirational romance will enjoy this sweet story.
