I'm sorry to say that Poisoning Sylvie didn't live up to my expectations at all. I expected an interesting story about a woman who used a second identity to give herself the confidence to face her fears. Instead, I was met with flat, one-dimensional characters and an uninspiring story line.

Somehow, we're expected to believe that, overnight, Sylvie goes from a girl who appears afraid of her own shadow and unwilling to be involved with men, to a girl with two boyfriends who she is dating using two different personalities and who is able to overcome her fears almost without effort.
There are also long rambling talks between the characters which would have been much better if they were shorter and more concise.

Overall, the idea as explained in the blurb was a good one but it was poorly carried out and I struggled to finish this book.
