Book Summary:

You know how childhood friendships go. Annabel, Esther, Tanya, and Chloe were best friends growing up. But as adults, they have largely lost touch with one another. They don't hang out or talk as much as they used to.

When a bachelorette party invite comes out of nowhere, it seems like the perfect excuse to get the group back together. The thing is, the bachelorette is Poppy – the girl they bullied ten years ago. It seems strange that she would want them to be in her bridal party, but none of them will complain since she's paying.

My Review:

If you're looking for a good revenge story, check out She Started It. That said, don't expect this one to be some big mystery. I hate to say it, but I knew what the twist was by the third chapter if that. It's very clearly telegraphed.

Once you know what's happening, the story quickly turns from a thriller into a revenge story. There's no other way to twist that. I was almost tempted to stop reading once I put two and two together, but I opted to keep reading.

Honestly, I'm glad I did. Despite She Started It being a straightforward read, I have to admit that it was really well written. There's something about Sian Gilbert's writing style and voice that is so compelling. I couldn't put the book down. So I'm taking that as a win.
