Summary:
Once upon a time, a man named Tatsu was a fierce member of the Yakuza. He was known as the Immortal Dragon and infamous for everything he did – and survived. But that was years ago. Now he's a househusband and quite dedicated to the job.
Enter the househusband! He walked away from a life of danger and violence. Now he fights a new type of battle against dust and messes. All while mastering the art of cooking and shopping.
Review:
Oh my god. This series is hilarious! In truth, I had seen some of the anime before this point, but I just had to sit down and read The Way of the Househusband Vol. 1. I'm absolutely going to read the rest of this series (and then binge the anime, followed by the live-action series).
The Way of the Househusband Vol. 1 perfectly balances slice-of-life storytelling and humor. We're talking about a guy that looks pretty terrifying, yet his daily life is focused on household issues we all deal with. Granted, he takes everything to the extreme. That's part of the charm, I think.
I'm giving major bonus points for the cat side story at the end of this volume. Here's hoping every volume has one of these.
Will I continue the series? Yes
