Book Summary:

Mark Grayson has always known he had a better-than-average chance of succeeding with superpowers. After all, his father has them and promised to inherit them someday. This helped prepare Mark for superhero life long before those powers came to be.

Mark is back home safe and sound, and things are settling for his family. Well, sort of. So, of course, now is the time that Angstrom Levy decided to strike. His move will forever change Mark. Meanwhile, ROBOT is moving forward with the next step in his plan.

My Review:

It's time to dive back into a world of superheroes and mayhem! Sorry, I'm excited. I took a few weeks off from reading Invincible (not by choice – I had to wait for my book order to arrive), so it's pretty nice to be back at it.

Okay, so as usual, there's a lot to unpack in Invincible Vol. 7. It's incredible how Robert Kirkman and crew manage to keep making plot arcs that hit so freaking hard. In this case, the punch was both expected and unexpected. We all knew that Angstrom Levy was coming for Invincible; he said as much. But I was so surprised by how that fight went.

As for the other main plot of this volume, I already knew at least a little bit about it. The TV show is ahead in that regard, though I think I'm almost caught up. There are some interesting implications, though, and I'm curious to see how it all pans out.

There are at least half a dozen subplots or early threads for new arcs woven into Invincible Vol. 7. I'm always impressed by how many threads this series has going at any one time.

Highlights:
Part of a Series
Superhero Teen
Coming of Age with a Twist
Now an Amazon TV Series
