I honestly didn’t think they could up the tension after the conclusion of the last issue, but man was I wrong! They kept building it – experimenting with the idea (pun intended) and see how far they could go with it. It was fairly intense. Especially when the Hulk reveals his cards, so to speak.
While the Hulk/scientist side of the plot was fascinating and just a little disturbing, I also really enjoyed Captain Marvel’s side of the plot. For one thing, I hadn’t expected to see her here (they pulled her in to be the bad guy and arrest Hulk, so job done, right?). For another I really like how they portrayed her. Of course she would have realized something was off! It’s literally her job! And of course she’d act on that knowledge, even if it required her to go about it using different methods than usual. It’s such a Carol thing to do.
I’m so anxious to see what the next issue will reveal. They’ve been building to something big for a while now, so surely we’ll be seeing some of that soon, right?
