Summary:
Catarina Claes is the spoiled daughter of a duke and the primary antagonist in a dating sim, Fortune Lover. Or rather, that's how the story is supposed to go. That was before a high school girl woke up in her body and made it her life goal to avoid all the horrible fates in store for this villainess.
This whole time Catarina has been working SO hard to avoid her Doom. And trust us – hard work doesn't always come naturally to this girl. So imagine her surprise when one of the Doom scenarios pops up – all hoping to ruin her reputation and seal her fate. How will she survive?
My Review:
The first two volumes of My Next Life as a Villainess have been a delight, but I honestly think this is my favorite (so far). It's undoubtedly one of the funnier arcs, tucked neatly against one of the darker cliffhangers (again, so far).
It was interesting seeing an event from the Doom track appear. You'd think those would fade away. Its very appearance has certain implications, which the next volume will likely delve into in more depth.
I could focus on the darker (pun intended) elements of this story, but instead, I want to highlight something: how much My Next Life as a Villainess Vol. 3 made me laugh. We all know that Catarina is completely and utterly clueless – and the humor of this volume is very much centered on that. It absolutely tickled me.
This volume ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. Onward!
