Fierce Heart by Tara Grayce

Fierce Heart (Elven Alliance, #1)

by Tara Grayce

Essie would do anything for her kingdom…even marry an elf prince she just met that morning.

The human kingdom of Escarland and the elven kingdom of Tarenhiel have existed in an uneasy peace after their last wars ended with both kings dead. As tensions rise once again, desperate diplomacy might be the only way to avert war. If only negotiations between elves and humans were that simple.

When a diplomatic meeting goes horribly wrong, Essie, a human princess, finds herself married to the elf prince and warrior Laesornysh. Fitting in to the serene, quiet elf culture might be a little difficult for this talkative princess, but she’s determined to make it work.

With impending war and tenuous alliances, it will be up to Essie to unite her two peoples. And maybe get her hands on elven conditioner while she’s at it.

This was so wholesome!! ❤️ It was the most warmhearted book I've read in a long time.

There are two particular things I love about this:

Culture: This book perfectly illustrates people trying to adapt to other cultures. I've read books about humans meeting elves or fae, etc. But this is the first time I really remember any kind of culture shock. Essie tries to adapt to a different way of life, different ways of interacting with people and displays of affection, different foods, etc. Even struggling to figure out which seat to choose at dinner. Watching her experience it all was so much fun!

Sweet Romance: Ellie and Farrendel were so sweet! It's an arranged marriage and we get to watch them slowly develop a relationship. I love Farrendel's shy nature and how it contrasts with Ellie's bubbly, social personality. They were so cute together. I also love how this book didn't have any huge relationship conflicts or fights; it was just adorable all the way through.

I loved this book and am immediately jumping into the rest of the series!
