It was nice to start 2023 with a fun, quick read, and Envy of Angles did not disappoint. It was a crazy ride, but I enjoyed every minute of it. There were a lot of characters introduced, and not a huge amount of development for them, and the world isn't fully fleshed out yet, but it didn't detract enough from the story to affect my rating. Instead, it made me pretty keen to read the rest of the novella series to find out more!
The humour is a blunt instrument, and might not be to everyone's taste. But it was the exact kind of irrelevant, over-the-top silliness that I was in the mood for. There is nothing subtle about Envy of Angles, so be prepared for some crazy shenanigans. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
