clunky, i absolutely loved it.
I found the story quite intense with several stories running throughout, but all in the same trajectory.
The characters were all very interesting, each one was deep and complex, simple in nature yet deep, complicated turmoil under their surface.
I enjoyed the characters growth throughout the story, some parts felt a little rushed, but that's okay I forgive that, because the sttory holds out.
The pace was average, the spice was there in small tokens.
I did feel a little weird reading some parts, but I know that was intentional on the authors behalf. If you read it you will understand. (reaper)
The idea of a 'vampire' lore type magic system was very interesting,
They are not Vampires, but elders. The term vampire is derogatory.
A vampire is a halfbreed, created to destroy and has weaknesses, but also the newborn strength and anger to rip apart and destroy everything.
They can spread the 'vampire' virus.
Yet they can only be created themselves by being given elder blood.
The elders here, have what's called Grace. They walk in the sun, and seem somewhat kind and pleasant.
I won't spoil it any further, because you will just have to read it and see for yourself.
Overall, this book, it's world and characters stole my heart, I wish it had been more thought out, it was a lot to cram into one book, and perhaps would have been better split into 2. To create more ambience and depth.
That said, for an ARC it was a lovely read. I hope after it's final round of edits, it will be a smashing success for the author.
4 shiny silver stars for this one ⭐⭐⭐⭐
