This is the second book in the Elemental Witches of Eternal Springs series, each book written by a different author. In the series, the four witches are tasked by their coven to protect the island of Eternal Springs, off the coast of New Jersey. There is a portal on the island, and it is their mission to send the creatures that sneak through it back to the other side.

Zola Meadows is the lead of this installment, an earth witch who owns a garden shop with the whimiscal name of Cackleberries. One of her jobs is to provide the lobby of the local resort and spa with plants, and it is while setting her plants up that she discovers a dead body… in a chocolate fountain. And Zola’s neighbor, an elderly woman who runs a chocolate shop, is the only suspect. To make matters worse, there is an escaped creature wreaking havoc on the island.

This is a fun read with a great mystery, lots of funny moments, and a hint of romance!
