I've been craving a new fae series to sink my teeth into, so when I saw Bad Girls Drink Blood on my NetGalley feed, I knew I had to try it right away. Written by S.L. Choi, Bad Girls Drink Blood is the first of what I hope will be a new series!

Everyone has a limit on how much abuse they can take. For Lane, crossing that limit meant it was time to move out of her fae home and try something different. Now she and her sisters run a detective agency. They'll take on any case that'll help them stay above water.

This is probably why Lane is about to get into a new mess of trouble. It started as something routine but quickly turned into a more dangerous game that brings the fae she's been avoiding right to her door.

Let me just say this: If you enjoy The Hollows series by Kim Harrison but need something to read between releases, you've got to read Bad Girls Drink Blood. It has a similar vibe, with sisters running a detective agency, mixed fae blood in their veins, and a stubborn streak a mile long. It'll feel like coming home, almost.

I enjoyed Bad Girls Drink Blood, though it took me a few moments to get into the story (I think that says more about the mood I was in than the story I was reading, being precise). It was fun and chaotic, with lots of magic to delve into.

Books like this are the reason why I love snatching up debut novels. You can find some gems, and for urban fantasy lovers, that new gem is Bad Girls Drink Blood. So read it!
