This was such a wild ride of a book! It was my first by Camilla Way, but it won’t be my last. I was taken in from the very first page!
The story is told in alternating timelines, which for much of the book creates two separate stories. The story of the past seems unconnected to that of the present… until tiny threads begin to draw them together.
This book has all the necessary elements for a great psychological thriller. Overly perfect families, a violent and psychopathic child, twists and turns,missing ppeople, and dark secrets that have had disastorous reprecussions. There were moments that were utterly chilling, and it was those moments especially that keep me turning the pages as quickly as possible. At various points, I thought I had it figured it out, but each time a twist appeared and proved me completely wrong.
There is truly never a dull moment in this book. It was well paced and thoroughly engrossing!
