Wow. This issue of Avengers is huge! It’s something like 70 pages, which doesn’t sound like much…but compared to a standard issue it’s more than double. Not that I’m complaining! Naturally there’s a ton that actually happens in this issue. There’s the normal inter-Avengers banter and the like, which is my favorite. A couple of the comments and conversations in this issue are officially my new favorites. I ship the budding relationship that’s occurring, even if I know it’s going to end up going down in flames. Perhaps literally?
There’s also the formation of two new teams (no, I’m not saying who they are) lead by a couple of surprises. We also got to see the more political side to the Avengers. Mostly a reaction to the Avengers though. A lot of fans have been talking about how unhappy the American government would be with T’Challa being in charge…and well let’s just say I was not surprised by the reaction shown.
Namor is still causing trouble. It’s kind of nice seeing him kick up a fuss, truth be told. I feel like it’s been forever since we’ve seen him do much. His team is a lot deadlier than I anticipated though. I know that sounds mean of me to say. I just wasn’t expecting them to be so tough.
Oh! And they may or may not be adding a new teammate or two. That one I’m totally not spoiling for you, but I will say that I squealed like the fangirl I am when I saw it.
