Lord Have Mercy takes the reader back to Gun Barrel Texas and Gun Barrel high school! I love stories about teachers and I love LLV, so grabbing this book was a no brainer. I also ADORED Hissy Fit (book 1).

Flint Stone (Yep, that is his real name) is a school resource officer and he cannot figure out what the heck is wrong with Camryn Elvis Presley (Yep, also her real name). She seems terrified of him and he has no idea why. Not that it matters-he has a girlfriend and Camryn is seeing another teacher at the school so nothing would happen...right. Enter Crossfit! Like Camryn, I would NOT be thrilled about joining crossfit. However, this leads to some absolutely adorable interactions between her and Flint! Also, I loved that he helped her with her past trauma (attacked by a dog). Camryn is quirky just like her BFF Raleigh and I enjoyed that. Flint is alpha which is always great. There is other woman drama because Flint's ex, who is also a teacher at the school, is bat crap crazy.

I have to mention that Camryn is not JUST a teacher. She is a high school Science teacher who is licensed to teach Biology and Chemistry. As a teacher myself, I think that showing more women empowering women to do science is incredible. I'm so glad that LLV not only wrote a book about teachers, but wrote about women teaching science. Lord Have Mercy was a delightful read that provided a few laughs and a nice escape for a weekend read!
