Only One Love by Natasha Madison is the seventh book in the Only One series. I have been following the series from the start and looked forward to diving into the latest installment. It may not have been what I had hoped, based on prior experience with the series, but I still had a good time with it. Read on to learn my reasons for recommending Only One Love.
As mentioned earlier, Only One Love didn’t completely live up to my expectations. It took me sometime to fully engage with the main characters. Fortunately, the deeper into the story one goes, one learns to appreciate them both and relate to what makes them tick. I had a good time seeing how they came together.
Frances and Bradley are total opposites. Frances knows what it means to be part of a loving family, while Bradley had a troubled childhood. An absentee father and a mother who never showed him unconditional love. Despite this, he successfully forged a career in hockey. The media dubs him the bad of hockey. He gained the bad boy moniker because of fights he unwittingly ends up in while on the rink.
The relationship between Frances and Bradley began as a one-night stand which occurred prior to the start of this book. They probably never expected their paths to cross again, but given the fact they shared the same circles, meeting again was inevitable. At the point of reconnection, their chemistry exploded off the pages.
The romance which developed was spicy and filled with lots of heat. Now, I don’t mind a spicy romance, but it would have been nice to have a greater amount of emotional connection. I thought the hero was more emotionally invested in the relationship.
The synopsis mentioned a scandal. A scandal meant to cause damage brought the couple closer. It's such a pity the person behind it paid the consequences for their actions, but no course of action was taken against this person.
Overall, Only One Love delivery a sassy, light and sexy romance sprinkled with humour. I am eager for more of this series and can’t wait to see what next the author has in store for fans of the series.
