They were really young when they stuffed up...

The Winter Wife was recommended to me by a fellow historical romance fan. I was already a fan of Anna Cambell's writing but this one had slipped past my radar. It was extremely short, packed a wee bit of a punch but left me satisfied that this couple would succeed the second time around.

One of the best parts of this story was that both Alicia and Sebastian take equal blame for their separation. They were extremely young when they first married, with Alicia only seventeen and Sebastian twenty-one. With very little life experience, neither was ready to deal with the intimacies of marriage and struggled with communicating their issues. Now, years later, they can both see their mistakes clearly. The one thing they both agree on though is their attraction and feelings never diminished in the time they were apart.

Of course, I wish this little Christmas treat was longer, but there was enough story to see their connection. I was left satisfied but would have loved to see a little more into their future together.
