So for those of you that aren't in the know, Kristy Nicolle is one of my favorite indie authors. I love the unique way she builds her worlds and how much fun her stories are. They really are the perfect escape.

I am telling you all this because Kristy Nicolle just released her first poetry collection. Now, I don't typically review poetry, but I'm willing to give anything written by Kristy Nicolle a chance. Thus we have I Am Arcana.

First, let's talk about that name, shall we? I Am Arcana is so beautiful and evocative. It's perfect for a poetry collection. Especially when we learn about the collection's premise: each of the twenty-two Major Arcana cards (from Tarot) gets a little bit of love here.

Now, I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on the Arcana in Tarot cards. But I have always been fascinated with their designs. So this premise thrilled me to pieces. I loved seeing Kristy Nicolle lend her frame of mind towards something like this.

It was a wholly unique experience to read, one that I cannot recommend enough to all my fellow readers out there. That goes doubly for those that love the Tarot or poetry, for obvious reasons. And if you do give I Am Arcana, please reach out and tell me which poems are your favorites – I'm curious!

Thanks to Kristy Nicolle for making this book available for review. All opinions expressed are my own.
