Exceptionally practical, if a bit out dated, this book offers clear advice on becoming a professional writer with exercises and specific how-to information.
Most of the book focuses on getting magazine articles published and offers a lot of ideas and advice, with interesting stories along the way. While it's a great suggestion on being published and read (mostly in non-fiction realms), it needs to be adapted for a world that spends much more time on the internet than it does in magazines.

Still, it's a short book, clear cut and to the point. While there may not be the demand for magazine articles that there once was, the things she suggests are still good ideas to create stories for blogs or websites whether or not you actually find a way to get paid.
