This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Bookouture for my copy of this book via Netgalley. I had been reading a lot of crime books recently so I was excited for a change of pace with this romcom.
Okay, I have a confession to make. I am a sucker for an Irish accent, so when I saw the male lead in this book was Irish I just knew I had to read it.
Sarah and Declan were excellent lead characters. Sarah reminded me quite a lot of myself. There were quite a few traits that I thought yep I'd do that. Especially with all the questions. With Declan I had insta love. As I said I'm a sucker for Irish accents and his personality just did it for me. I loved the chemistry between these two. They bickered and teased like they had been together for years.
There were some great side characters in this book. I loved bestie Annie and roomie Sarah. Will is also a lot of fun I would love to work with him.
From start to finish this book is packed full of witty lines, It's one of those books that leave you smiling every time you finish a chapter. It's the perfect afternoon escapism.
this is an excellent debut that is fresh and funny. I can't wait for more from Catherine.
