Pitch to Palace by Aven Ellis

Pitch to Palace (The Modern Royals, #4)

by Aven Ellis

She was a princess who found solace and happiness in books, determined to stay hidden from the world forever. But will her crush—a sexy Canadian footballer with a playboy past—be the one to lure her out of her shell and into his arms instead?

Comfort for Isabella York is found buried in the pages of books. Bookended between two beautiful sisters, she is a different kind of princess, quiet and studious. Judged harshly on social media and in the tabloids, which compare her to her thin, outgoing sisters, a shy Bella has no desire to become a working royal for the House of Chadwick upon graduating from university, preferring to work in the family’s dusty archives instead.

But hiding from the limelight may not be an option where Camden Tremblay is concerned. Sinfully gorgeous and with a wild past, Camden was the crush Bella longed for from the day she met him—and she knew he would never look her way.

Until he did.

Camden re-enters her life and they both see there is more to each other than meets the eye. He turns Bella’s life upside down like a snow globe, filling her life with a magic she has never known. But with each of them fighting their own insecurities, can this high-profile romance survive the intrusive eyes of the press—and the greatest crisis to face the monarchy to date?

If you love British royals, a sexy hero, a heroine who finds herself and a happily ever after, then you will love this heartwarming and romantic story

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. I have been waiting for Pitch to Palace to be released since Royal Icing came out almost a year ago! Aven gave such a great insight into Bella in this story that I have been so excited to read Bella's story ever since.

Bella York has spent her life comparing herself to her sisters. Bella is curvy while her sisters are not. Bella is shy and prefers the company of books to people. Bella has low self-esteem. She says she doesn't want to be a working royal but I think the truth of the matter is that she doesn't think she is who the people want to see. I think a lot of people will relate to Bella. Who hasn't had many of the same thoughts that Bella does throughout this book? No one! Bella is unfiltered, honest and most of all real. I love all of Aven's characters but Bella is the one I can relate to the most.

Camden Trembley (yes he is brother to Gavin for those that have read Outsccored) and Bella met for the first time in Royal Icing but they weren't ready for each other. Camden still had some growing to do before he was ready to be the man that Bella deserves. Camden isn't perfect but who is. We all have our flaws but it's acknowledging and learning from them that is important.

WARNING! I ate an obscene amount of ice cream while reading this book so I would recommend stocking up your freezer before you start reading as trust me you will be craving it!

As usual Aven's research is thorough. From Frogmore Palace to public royal dramas. Aven's research shows through it all.

I have loved every book Aven has written. Before this one Breakout was my favourite but Bella wormed her way into my heart and this book will forever be special to me. This book left me feeling empowered and motivated. Bella is a true inspiration!
