This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free from the Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Thank you to Hodder for my copy of this book. This is my first book by Katie so I was excited to delve into something new.

I absolutely loved the characters in this book. Beth, Simon and little Jake are our main characters. I thought each character was well thought out and realistic.

Beth was really put through the wringer at her old job in New York. She is a really caring woman who has a passion for helping people. She is very easy to like and you just instantly want her to be happy.

Simon is an amazing dad. He has put little Jake first time and time again despite everything he still manages to keep going. Katie shows his struggles which just makes him all the more real.

Jake is an incredible little boy. He doesn’t let his heart problem hold him back from living his life. He wants to make the most of every moment he has.

I really enjoyed Katie’s writing style. I found it very easy to read and barely noticed I had flown through most of it in a few hours. I will definitely be looking to pick up more of Katie’s books.

The blurb of this book makes you think it’s going to be a serious tear-jerker and while there were sad moments I wasn’t flooded with tears as I expected. It was actually a really sweet, romantic book. It made you think about the things that are really important in life and how it’s about the little things, the moments of happiness. It’s one of those books you will keep thinking about for a while after you finish it.
