I've been thinking about how to phrase this review and to put into words how this novel made me feel, and all I have to show for it is a single sentence:
It made me laugh, it made me cry, but most of all, it made me believe in love again.
If you are looking for a novel that has some of the classic tropes alongside some of the most relatable characters I've ever read, then you should pick this or Written in the Stars up. Alexandria Bellefleur has a way of making you connect to the characters, of seeing them as imperfect, perfect people instead of words on a page. The way that the images flow through your head and how the individual voices sound in your head is at a level that is hard to reach.
Personally, both novels that I've read by Alexandria Bellefleur have been 5 stars. If I could give her a bonus star simply for the representation subtly displayed in both books, I would. However, her writing is something else, and these characters, these people, shine within the pages.
I'm looking forward to your next book Alexandria, and I hope to read your books for many years to come.
