Proceed With Caution:
This book contains mentions of abduction, death, and a natural disaster.
The Basics:
This picks up immediately after the ending of the previous book, so yes you should go read Barbarian's Touch first. I'd also recommend checking out the novella, Calm, as well.
My Thoughts:
Barbarian's Taming was another fun, romantic adventure! Maddie feels like an outsider. She's the only single woman in the tribe, and she really has no one to talk to. She alienated the rest of the women when she was freaking out about her sister being missing. But now, her sister is back with a mate, and Maddie has no one. Meanwhile, Hassen has been exiled for kidnapping Lila, and he's starting to feel the pull of loneliness as well. Lucky for him, Maddie doesn't hold grudges and isn't one to follow arbitrary rules. She asks him to teach her hunt so that they both have company, but as we know, men and women can't just be friends on the Ice Planet.
I really enjoyed Barbarian's Taming. Maddie and Hassen aren't my favorite couple, but I do think this was my favorite book overall. I just loved all of the world-building that happened. Well, it was more like world-crumbling followed by exploration, but you know what I mean!
Calm hinted at something big coming, and now it hit. It was devastating for everyone! But the sa-khui are a resourceful people, and they immediately got to work on rebuilding what they could. However, Maddie and Hassen have discovered something super interesting and intriguing and mysterious during their hunt. Are there other inhabitants on the planet? Was there native intelligent life before the sa-khui and humans crash landed?! Tune in next time to find out!
