I know that some people didn’t receive the first issue of Freeze all that well, but I personally thought it was interesting. They still have a lot to explain about what’s going on; from what is happening globally to why the main character is the only exception, but as long as they explain that at some point down the line…and the explanation is reasonable then I think I’ll be okay with it.
This issue raised some more questions for me, but I think it was mostly in a good way. It’s easy to look at a situation and say to yourself that you’d handle it differently, but knowing what you’d do differently, or actually dealing with said situation would be something else completely. That’s how this issue made me feel. I was questioning the way the characters were handling things – only to realize that I had no idea how they could go about it in any other way. It’s not like they can undo what was done in one fell swoop.
The cliffhanger/conclusion to this issue was unexpected, but again that’s a good thing. This plot has the potential to get complacent, so I’m glad that they’re actively avoiding that. I’m looking forward to seeing what will happen next.
