Read this review, and many more on my blog October Tune!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This has not changed my opinion on the book in any way.

I wanted to write a proper review about this, but my phone deleted a lot of the screenshots I had made from the book, with the things I wanted to discuss. So I am going to try to make a review with the notes that I’ve still got. It is going to be quite a short review.

I requested this book, because the story sounded interesting to me. And the story was indeed quite interesting, though it wasn’t as awesome as I had hoped it would be. It felt to me as if the writer wasn’t 100% sure in which POV he wanted to write the story, because that changed quite a couple of times throughout the book. And not in a good way, with a different chapter being from a different character’s POV, but somewhere in the middle of the story; there was this part at the beginning of a chapter that was in Adam’s POV, and then a couple of sentences later it would be from Nikki’s POV (who I thought was the main character).

There were also some double sentences throughout the book, of which I had made screenshots (but my phone deleted those, for some reason). And after those double sentences, the rest of the sentence would be a bit odd, as if there was something missing; it confused me sometimes, but I wasn’t really that much bothered with it, I just skipped them and read on to the next one.

Another thing was the fact that there were a lot of characters; and most of the grown-up characters were called by their first names too, in stead of just ‘Nikki’s Mom’, or something like that. There was one part, somewhere near the end, where the POV was from a character called Caleb; and it was very good that the writer explained who he was, otherwise I had been thinking about him the rest of the book, and I probably wouldn’t have remembered the rest of the story.

I did like the happy ending, and the idea behind the story; and I also liked the cover (which is the other reason I chose this book); but I’m not really a fan of this book.
