Because of the way the author chose to tell the story, alternating between first person POV (our amateur P.I., Cletus,) and third person POV (used anytime the author needed to reveal information Cletus couldn't figure out on his own), this historical murder "mystery" was blown right from the first 17 pages. The reader just has to slog through 200 some pages to figure out how it all fits together. And after 200 pages, the reader had enough and skipped ahead. Honestly, I was put off by how justice was served and the reason why Diane was murdered.
