This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Wow oh wow. I usually get emotional when I read Melissa’s books but this one was something else. I shed so many tears while reading this book. Both happy and sad ones. Something about this one really got me.
Grant and Jules really captured my heart. From the beginning of the book I was rooting for Jules to help Grant shift his grumpiness. Jules’ happiness is infectious. She makes you want to sing from the rooftops. Grant has been through hell both on and off the battlefield and I just wanted to wrap my arms around him and give him the biggest hug!
Melissa draws you into these big families and makes you feel like a part of them. I love all the teasing and good-natured ribbing the families give each other. It reminds me of all the good times with my own family.
This is the second book in this series but I cannot wait to read so many more books set on Silver Island. It’s one of those places that I would absolutely love to visit (if it was real). I can’t wait to see all of Jules and Grant’s friends fall in love and find their HEA!
