I really, really hate when authors separate characters that work well togerher. I hate when authors create conflict by having characters keep secrets from each other and make assumptions and not talk to each other about what’s going on. So…. yeah, that’s what I think of this book so far.
So I’m not sure what to think of this book. I get what Carter was trying to do with Hale and everyone working together after Kat was working by herself last book. But Hale was never her strongest character so I don’t think it worked that well. He’s still just kind of convenient for what the story needs when it needs it withour really being developed. Plus he and Kat never really talk. He just says her name and then she says something and then they get interrupted. Also, it’s 100% lame that theres the whole bit with his name and we never learn it. Also the con is messy and all over the place compared to the last book. It’s like Ocean’s 12, trying way to hard to too many directions for little payoff.
