I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. One can always count on Melissa Foster to deliver an emotional and steamy love story guaranteed to win your heart. Well, Always Her Love delivered as expected, with a delightful friends to lovers storyline.

Always Her Love, the fourth book in the Steeles at Silver Island series, gives us Levi and Tara’s story. Levi epitomized the term awesome dad. He assumed the role of fatherhood when he was twenty years of age and he fought to give his daughter, Joey, the best life possible. His focus was looking after his daughter and, as a result, was blind to what’s in front of him. While his friends and family saw it, he remained oblivious.

Tara was a delightful heroine, one with which most readers can relate. Selfless and talented. As a child, she had a huge crush on Levi, and as the years went by; she fell completely in love with him. She believed her feelings were not reciprocated. So she plans to distance herself from him and Joey, who was also her niece, after being a part of their lives for so long. However, when his brother Archer commented on their obvious attraction to each other, it opened the floodgates. Soon, Levi and Tara’s relationship would develop beyond friendship.

Tara and Levi complemented each other, both as friends and as lovers. They brought out the best in each other. The friendship they shared and Tara’s devotion to her niece made the move from friends to lovers seamless. They were practically a family long before they became more.

The story was rife with sexual tension. Fear of damaging their friendship prevented Levi from moving too quickly. However, when his desire became too much to bear, he knew he had to take the risk. The outcome made the risk worthwhile. Their journey came with its share of obstacles, most of which was a product of their past.

Reading about Tara’s struggles as a child up broke my heart. Her sister, and the mother of Levi’s daughter, played a major role in the emotional pain and trauma she experienced as a child. One can understand the insecurities Tara struggled with as an adult. Sad to say, her sister was and is still a bitch. The way she treated her daughter spoke volumes.

In Always Her Love, Foster gives her readers a story of love, healing, friendships and family which will keep you glued to the pages. It possesses all the elements to satisfy die hearted romance readers.
