Shades of Magic by Heather Renee

Shades of Magic (Raven Point Pack, #2)

by Heather Renee

Our wounds are still fresh, but I refuse to give up. Declan Black messed with the wrong shifter and I won't stop until I've made him pay for what he's done.

Having the help of the witch coven we searched for brings choices I wasn't ready to make, but as I say goodbye to one family member and welcome back another, I use the rage consuming me as fuel to continue moving forward in search for retribution.

As a battle nears, my heart and head continue to fight over what to do about my responsibilities to the pack and my mate bond with Liam. He's a risk I'm not sure I'm willing to take, but I'll need to decide soon before the choice is made for me.

Though, when the dust settles, and the consequences of my decisions become known, I may just reach my breaking point.

Shades of Magic by Heather Renee is the second book in the Raven Point Pack series. After my adventure with book one I couldn’t wait to start this installment. I needed to know if Taya would get her revenge and locate the witch who could save her father.

At the start of this installment, Taya finds herself in a difficult situation. She needs to make a choice, which will require sacrificing a member of her pack. Will she be able to do it even if meant doing so would save her father? No matter the decision she makes, the pack will be plunged into mourning. If that was not enough there may be a traitor in the pack.

On a positive note her relationship with Liam is developing nicely. However, the road to true love does not run smoothly. Tragic events will throw a wrench into their plans for the future. I am curious to know how this will develop.

Taya’s strength shined through in this installment. Despite all the challenges faced she did not break under the pressure. It helped that she had the support of Auggie and Liam.

I continue to enjoy the camaraderie and humour that the characters brought to the story.

I expected there would be lots of action in this installment, but this was not the case. Though that the one battle that occurred was intense and had me on the edge of my seat.

The story ended with a cliff-hanger leaving me with more unanswered questions.

Narration
Kasi Howell continues to narrate and does a great job capturing the tone, personality and the voice of the characters.

Conclusion/Recommendation
Shades of Magic was a fun read. I had a good time with this installment and I am looking forward to listening to the third book, Shades of Deceit. This series is perfect for fans of urban fantasy, werewolves and witches.
