Friday Night Alibi

If you're looking for a nice and easy summer read, then this is the book you've been looking for.

The book is set in a Christian environment, but I wouldn't go as far as calling it Christian litterature; there are some pretty hefty kissing scenes.

Being a NA novel, I was a bit disappointed; while our MC Kelli is 18 years old, she's portrayed as a 15 year old. This gave me more of a YA feeling than a NA feeling. It was too I-don't-know-what-to-do-with-myself-ish for me to be a NA novel. It would make for a great YA story though.
The storyline wasn't that surprising, but that's the way it's supposed to be with this kind of books. It did deal with some issues like not telling the truth to your parents (...lying), accepting yourself and do what you want, not what everybody else wants you to be doing. It's a lot about finding out who you are and what makes you happy.

I was a bit disappointed with the lovestory. While I found Chase to be a real sweatheart, I still missed some sort of a conflict. Well, there are some smaller ones, but not nearly enough. I felt like I knew right away what was gonna happen to Chase and Kelli. I would've enjoyed some surprises along the way. And a bit more of Alex and Sadie.

This book was so easy to read. While the first chapter had me confused (a lot!), the rest of the book couldn't have been easier in any way! It was such an easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed that. It had a lot of humour and I found myself laughing more than once during this book.

I would like for this book to be called Friday Night Girl instead of Friday Night Alibi. :P
