If you are looking for a book that will make you want to sit by a fire wrapped up in your winter pjs with a hot chocolate then this is it.

We have already met some of the characters in this book in The Little Village Bakery but there are a couple of additions in this one and the focus is on Darcie and Spencer this time.

Spencer has returned from America for christmas in Honeybourne with his lovely fiancee Tori. Things are going swimmingly except for one thing. Tori’s parents cannot stand Spencer. They are flying over to spend Christmas with Spencer, Tori and Spencer’s parents and he’s going to try his damndest to win them over. There’s also the problem of some old feelings resurfacing.

Darcie is Milly’s cousin and she came to Honeybourne to help out Milly and Dylan with the Bakery since they had little Oscar. Darcie is really enjoying life in the village except for one thing. She’s developed some feelings for Dylan who is strictly off limits. Darcie spends her time trying not to fall in love with the delectable Dylan and helping out in the bakery.

I loved switching between Spencer and Darcie’s lives. They are two very different characters at different stages in their lives so it was fun to be in both of their heads.

Tilly did a great job of creating the perfect christmas scenes. I felt like it was getting ready for christmas even though it’s september and the sun is still shining (just).

I really enjoyed this story and I can’t wait to see what Tilly brings us next.
