Captivate Me (The Captivated, #1)

The beginning of this story was very typical so I wasn't even sure I was going to finish it. Luckily, it started getting way better. While the writing style could be improved by a bit, the story was really unique and entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised with the ending because I didn't see it coming at all. It sort of jumped out at me. It's a quick read though, only taking me a few hours to finish.

The characters were half and half for me. I loved a few of them, hated the rest. There was no in between. I really enjoyed the love interest and his friends. They were my favourite part of the book. I found them very entertaining even though their set up sort of reminded me of the Cullen's in Twilight. I can forgive them for that. The main character herself wasn't too bad either. She made some bad decisions and could get annoying but she was far from terrible.

The only bad things about this book were the beginning of the story and the writing. Some of the dialogue got a bit awkward but the rest wasn't too bad. I think with a little more editing it could be a really great series.
